Start of the meal with a little bubbly—a glass of Porte Leone’s pink prosecco, or opt for refreshing lemonade-style Valentine’s mocktail with a hint of sweetness. A sharing platter of bruschetta follows; house-made rosemary focaccia topped with beautifully roasted-balsamic beetroot that goes harmoniously well with the smooth velvety ricotta; its subtle smokiness blending into the natural sweetness of beet—a dab of ricotta smoothens out the flavors; and pumpkin purée laced with amaretti biscuits for a surprising pop of crunch. One of the best bruschettas we’ve had by far.

Moving on to the mains, a selection of three delectable dishes pave the way. Meat lovers will delight in the 35-day dry aged sirloin steak of perfect doneness, accompanied by chicken liver crostini, deep fried sage and (it’s back to Italy) with a sprinkle of Italian truffles. We’ve got our heart set on the lobster al forno, an Italian classic of absolutely fresh and succulent Boston lobster—its firm flesh crunching between our teeth like music to the ears, served alongside a piquantly robust handmade spaghetti pomodoro. What we truly love about the pastas here—spot on al dente, every single time. Vegetarians may opt for the handmade rigatoni tossed in basil pesto, smoked mozzarella and herbed breadcrumbs.

The peak of it is its stunning array of sweet treats on the dessert plank—house-made tiramisu (seriously, these guys make everything in-house here), rich and velvety smooth chocolate brownie, chocolate profiteroles and a beautiful mess of crunchy-chewy pavlova.
